Future Events in Our Parish:
Aug 15th Vestry Meeting 9am at Christ the King
Aug 17th Loaves & Fishes at NWTC
CAP PANTRY: The CAP Pantry is now supplied with lots of shampoo, bar soap, deodorant and a small supply of razors, thanks to the outreach donation from CTK/HN. Amy and Sandi are grateful to have personal products to share with families. Thank you everyone for your monetary gifts and for items placed in the basket at the back of each church—we are making a difference in the lives of many! There is still a need for more razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine products and egg cartons.
LOAVES & FISHES: Loaves and Fishes desserts: August 17 is the date for providing desserts for the L&F meal at the Sturgeon Bay NWTC on N. 14th Ave. This is a free community meal; churches take turns providing the desserts. Please sign up to provide 2 to 3 dozen desserts (cookies, bars, cakes–no nuts please). If you can bake, please tell Joan Fox or Barb Graul. This is an Outreach project of our congregation.
OUTREACH COMMITTEE: The Outreach Committee of CTKHN is tasked with recommending to which non-profit charitable organization our budgeted $1,000 per quarter should be donated. The Bishop’s Committee makes the final determination on these donations. The committee also funnels special requests for help (usually emergency needs) for disbursement of special funds.
In order to maximize the impact of these donations, we typically ask members to donate to these outreach efforts by giving a check in the amount of their choice made payable to the church, with “Outreach” indicated on the memo line.
The third quarter Outreach funds will be going to Cradle to Career, and organization that provides life and career planning for people (under the age of 30) who are expecting or have children under the age of five years. It operates under the aegis of CAP (Community Action Program). Please consider a donation to this organization as outlined in the preceding paragraph.
If you have any questions about the church’s outreach efforts, ask Joanne Ator, Suzanne Crager, Barbara Graul, Dcn. John Koski, Kate Wulle-Dugan, or Fr. Olin. If you are interested in participating on the committee (we meet about four times a year), please let any the committee members or Fr. Olin know.”
