Announcements and Intercession List

Announcements for Sunday 5 September 2010

THIS BEING THE FIRST WEEKEND OF THE MONTH, the loose (undesignated) offerings received at the Eucharist will be given to the Vicar’s Discretionary Fund.

THE CHURCH OFFICE will be closed on Monday 6 September in observance of the Labor Day holiday.  The Office will resume its normal hours of operation on Tuesday 7 September.

OUR NEXT CIRCLE SUPER will be held at the home of Lynn and Larry Burkhardt on Friday 1 October at 6:00 p.m.  Please join us for the fun.  Place your name on the sign-up sheet in the back of the church and indicate what dish you intend to bring to share with others.

THE COMMUNITY ACTION PANTRY (CAP) needs you help.  During the month of September we are asking for donations of cereal, either hot or cold, to serve as a healthy component of a daily nutritional breakfast.

THE MEN OF THE PARISH are reminded that the MEN’S GROUP will ,meet on the second Saturday of September, the 11th, instead of the usual first Saturday.  This change has been made due to the Labor Day holiday which falls on the previous weekend.

THE VICAR is seeking volunteer bakers to prepare cookies, etc. for use in conjunction with our annual Blessing of the Animals, on Saturday 9 October.  The goodies are served as a extension of our hospitality to those who come with their pets for the blessing.  If you can help, please place your  name on the sign-up sheet.

Collect for Labor Day

Almighty God, you have so linked our lives one with another that all we do affects, for good or ill, all other lives: So guide us in the work we do, that we may do it not for self alone, but for the common good; and, as we seek a proper return for our own labor, make us mindful of the rightful aspirations of other workers, and arouse our concern for those who are out of work; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
